Where are some good places to live at in Maine?

Hi, I'm from Missouri and I've just about had my fill of the state (particularly the unstable / severe weather). I've been considering Maine because I like the weather and the location. My question is where is a good place to live in the state? I'm looking for something isolated and lush for my privacy, but within a half-hour or so from a nice city for shopping and activities. Thanks!Where are some good places to live at in Maine?

You will discover that is fairly easy to find in Maine.

I'd recommend Southern Maine, anyplace from Brunswick south to the New Hampshire boarder and along I95.

Portland is the largest city. Portland has all your shopping, restaurants, bars etc.. Portland is about a 2ish hour drive to Boston.

New Hampshire isn't bad either;) Portsmouth, NH is a smaller version of Portland. Portsmouth is about an hour from Portland and an hour from Boston. A significant portion of Maine's population lives between Portsmouth and Portland.Where are some good places to live at in Maine?
