how cold does it get? how hot does it get? is it mostly hot or cold? how much humidity?Whats the weather like in maine?
It depends on where you are headed. Mountainous areas tend to be a bit cooler than the coast, and southern Maine, of course, is typically warmer than the northern areas. Additionally, the closer you are to water, the more humid the air tends to be.
I have found the Weather Underground website to be very useful. The site has a section whereby you can look up historical weather data for a particular area. For instance, go to wunderground.com and type in Portland, ME as your location.
When the current weather date displays you will see a section called Current Conditions. At the bottom of that section is a link for Weather History for This Location. You can go back a number of years and see what the temperature, rainfall, wind, etc. was for any location for a day, week, or month.
Regardless of what you find, be sure to bring both warm and cool weather layers. And, since the weather often changes quickly, especially along the coast, don't be fooled by a sunny warm morning - head out prepared!
Have fun! I just started writing about Maine vacation ideas on http://www.great-maine-vacations.com. You might find some useful info there, as well.
