The weather being colder is a no brainer, most of the time. My brother lived just north of Atlanta and at time it was colder there than in NH. Maine natives consider you "from away", if you were not born there. It can be an issue at times but you will get over it. The southern drawl will get peoples attention, My daughter goes to University Of Maine in Orono, she has liked the experience but is eager to move on.n The plus to living there, people are satisfied with a simpler way of life. They are closer to there families and make family life important. Not having the latest and greatest stuff is ok to them. Locals love doing stuff outside, weather doesn't matter, ski, snow shoe, snowmobiles, ice fishing, skiing. if its out side they enjoy it.Moving from Georgia to Maine please help?
you should stick to a town close to portland, maine-- portland has alot of people "From Away" so you wont stand out so much--dont draw attention to the fact that you arent from here and you wont get picked on--actually it's more adults picking on other adults with the the whole "from away" thing because they feel that outsiders are using up their resourcesMoving from Georgia to Maine please help?
