Is the weather in New England hard to deal with?

Mainly on the coast... are there differences between New Hampshire and say like Maine? Is the snow really THAT crazy? I was born and raised somewhere warm that NEVER snows btw... Also... how long does it snow... how many months out of the year? Is there humidity in the summer? Whatever you know will help! Thanks! Is the weather in New England hard to deal with?
I live in coastal maine (portland)..yes the weather can be difficult to deal with..winters are brutal-- the snow isnt even the biggest problem, it's the coldness and the long dark days---it gets pitch dark at 4:30 sometimes..BUT it is quite sunny during the daytime which helps alot...the summer is very humid but never overly hot--last few summers have been very rainy with temps mostly in the 80's with the occasional 90's...you can expect consistent snowfall from december through march, november and april are "iffy"..BUT this year has been unusually warm so far so you'll never know what you'll get

one more thing, the above person is DEAD wrong about it not snowing alot--have you ever heard of a nor'easter??? look it upIs the weather in New England hard to deal with?
its very cold in the winter, and very hot, rainy, and humid in the summer. meaning you will be sweating hard core all summer long. it is hard to deal with but people still manage some how. spring and autum are nice though. it doesnt snow alot because the northeastern usa mainly gets their precipitation in the summer. you will get alot more snow in places like utah.
