Will cold weather kill....?

my friend has a couple of outside cats they she found fleas on them. she wants to know if the cold weather(in maine) will kill fleas? Will cold weather kill....?
no. the cats should be flea dipped and use of an anti flea med should be used.

also the cats should be kept in the house (or at least allowed in the house off and on) during harsh weather, it's just as uncomfortable for a cat to be in harsh weather with no relief as it would be for a human, think about sitting outside for say eight hours in regular clothes during the harsh snowy weather, not too comfortable.

**remember the cats body will be warmer than the regular atmosphere out there, if anything the fleas will be enjoying a cozy nest of underfluff while the cats ears and paws and little noze are freezingWill cold weather kill....?
Yes, when the weather freezes the ground and it stays cold it will kill the fleas, but they will still be on the cats. Now if the cats outside it may kill the cats.

Bring those cats in and treat them for fleas. Will cold weather kill....?
no because they live off the animals body heat and if its not cold enough to kill the cat its not cold enough to kill the flees you need to put some front line or a good flea collar that should help and come through there fur frequently this should get rid of your problem

hope i helped
revolution, front line and advantage. those are drops you put in the back of the cats' necks, but first you must separate the fur so the drops will fall on the skin and not fur. they can be bought in pets stores.

i doubt cold weather will kill the fleas. they got them while being outside and yet the fleas didn't die. insects are resilient. the cold weather might kill the cats, though, maybe not now but later in the year.
