My husband and I are trying to go to Maine for a short trip during Thanksgiving. Any suggestions !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any suggestion on where to go, what to go, which places to visit. How would the weather be there during November. Please help :-)))My husband and I are trying to go to Maine for a short trip during Thanksgiving. Any suggestions !!!!!!!!!!!!!
What part of Maine? Western mountains? Southern Maine? Down East? Central? Mid-Coast?

Since at Thankgiving it could very well be absolutely clear (but cold) or the blizzard of the century (or, also common - both at the same time), the choices of where to stay and what to do are boundless. What are your interests? I would check out TripAdvisor.com and YellowPages.com and see what looks like fun. You could also see the online version of the Portland paper - the Portland Press Herald and see if they have any announcements of upcoming events during your stay. Their online site is affiliated with most of the larger papers throughout the state, so if you choose an area other than Portland, you'll still be able to check out local happenings.
Don't go to maine, its smelly and cold and no one likes you anyway

maines really pretty in the fall, im heading out there myself tommorow, if i can figure out how to survive in an airport, id recomend taking a few senic drives, if you want to go shopping Freeport is a awesome place to go, Sunday River is a ski resort in bethel, they plan to have a few trails open up by thanksgiving, other then that just enjoy the state, its a realy great place
yes, i used to drive my semi up through freeport, and i would drop off my trailer at a truck-stop and head to the beach and for $5.00 a night i could camp out by the ocean and you can buy a bottle of wine and get a bag of steamed clams and a Maine lobster tail for around $20.00!!!

my semi had all the entertainment i needed, plus scuba-divin in the ocean(wetsuit for warmth), it was really a great inexpensive time!!!

they have cabins and motels that are available, and the scenery is great!!

what got me is after dropping a load off in new jersey and new york, then as soon as you cross over into Maine the peoples attitudes change completely, in Maine people are friendly and polite and cheerful!!!

not so much so in new jersey or new york!!!My husband and I are trying to go to Maine for a short trip during Thanksgiving. Any suggestions !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Portland is wonderful. And its close to NH too so you can visit Portsmouth. The weather will be cold. Pack your coats and boots and gloves. Try to find a bed and breakfast. There is a museum in Portland and really go food. Make sure you try some Chowda.
