If an accident is weather-related, will my insurance go up?

Yesterday, I slid into a guardrail coming off of the interstate on the terrible snowy roads of Maine. $3,000 damage to my brand new car. I was told that if I file an insurance claim my monthly insurance payment won't go up since it was weather related.

Is this true?If an accident is weather-related, will my insurance go up?
if you was driving and slid off the road and did any damage to your car, and you report it to your insurance company, they will up your rates, because your at fault, for driving to fast for conditions, that's how it works, now if you was driving and a deer ran out and you hit it and did $3000 worth of damage, then your insurance would pay to fix the car and your rates wouldn't go up, but what you hit was a guard rail that makes it your fault, the weather doesn't have any thing to do with raising your rates, its the accident.
Unfortunately the weather doesn't mean anything. It is your driving that needs to be improved. If it is very snowy like you're mentioning it was, you cannot be driving too fast you have to slow it down by 2 or 3 x less.If an accident is weather-related, will my insurance go up?
I would expect a rate increase, your insurance company will say your at fault for driving faster then you should have for as bad as the road conditions were, maybe you'll get lucky and not have an increase but don't count on it. Have a great day.
It will almost surely go up...in the eyes of the insurance company you should have been driving slower, or not at all...no matter what the weather:(

Now, if you have been driving for 20 years with no claims, MAYBE you'll catch a break..but don't bet on it.If an accident is weather-related, will my insurance go up?
One of my friends has asked me a similar questions before,we found helpful here http://www.AutoInsuranceFree.info/free-auto-insurance.htm
It's your driving that is at fault, not the weather. How many cars made it through that off ramp without crashing...probably a lot.
Whoever told you that is an idiot. All accident claims affect your premium, unless you have a one-time "accident forgiveness" agreement with your particular company.
