I'm supposed to be going there for memorial day weekend and i'm really not sure what to pack and that kind of thing. Will it be warm? or is Maine still cold in may?What is the weather like in Maine at the end of May?
It depends on where you are headed. Coastal areas tend to be cooler with breezes coming in off the Atlantic, which in May has not yet had a chance to do much warming. And of course, southern Maine is typically warmer than the northern areas.
When I travel I have found Weather Underground to be really useful. They have a section whereby you can look up historical weather data for a particular area. For instance, go to wunderground.com and type in Portland, ME as your location.
When the current weather date displays you will see a section called Current Conditions. At the bottom of that section is a link for Weather History for This Location. You can go back a number of years and see what the temperature, rainfall, wind, etc. was for any location for a day, week, or month.
Regardless of what you find be sure to bring both warm and cool weather layers. And, since the weather often changes quickly, especially along the coast, don't be fooled by a sunny warm morning - head out prepared!
