Maine winter weather?

I'm planning on coming up to Vassalboro, Maine the first week of November. When does winter really start up there? Is there a good chance that it will have already started snowing?

(I'd rather avoid the snow and might be able to push my trip up to the first week of October if I have to.)Maine winter weather?
I'm a Maine native and it is very unlikely that there will be any snow. Do be prepared for cold temperatures though.

It is possible that it will have already snowed a little bit but very unlikely that there will have been any real accumulation of snow and very very unlikely that any snow received would stick around more than a day or two. It is not impossible if there is a freak weather pattern but very unlikely Are you trying to avoid snow for driving reasons or just trying to avoid winter weather so you have more to do and will care to be out and about. If the later then I would strongly suggest you move up to the first week of October because that is a much more pleasant time to visit then November.Maine winter weather?
CountyMounty is right on. I might add that coming in October would give you a chance to view the foliage if that interest you at all. Quite spectacular in Maine.
