How to plan a beach wedding in Maine or NH?

I'd love to get married on the beach in Maine or New Hampshire, with a reception location on site or nearby, and still have an inclement weather backup plan nearby, and not spend a ton of money. (Some places are asking $139 a plate for a wedding and reception.) Does anyone have any suggestions of venues and how to plan a beach wedding? How to plan a beach wedding in Maine or NH?
i live on Hampton beach in NH (gorgeous BTW)

you are planning this for the summer right??

if so go to the area on the beach EARLY in the morning and set up a large tent or something to reserve the spot you want to have the ceremony at! what would be REALLY cute is if you did it out on a jut of rocks: here's the one at hampton: http://pics4.city-data.com/cpicc/cfiles1鈥?/a>

that would be ADORABLE if you were to like come in on a boat!

a great venue right by the beach is the Ashworth By The Sea. It's a REALLY pretty and accomodate for weddings: http://www.ashworthhotel.com/weddings/in鈥?/a>

they can have your reception either in the ballroom or outside in their gardens!

This isn't a SUPER expensive hotel, but it is gorgeous and perfect for a wedding!

Hope I helped!!

It's going to be like that anywhere you look. I live in CA %26amp; had originally wanted my wedding to be here on the beach but it was too much hassle. Beach front restaurants are ridiculously expensive %26amp; seating is almost never allowed on the beach for the ceremony so consider elderly people when planning. Also parking was anywhere between $10-$20 per car for valet %26amp; I didn't want my guest to have to suck that up. If you really want to go through with it then plan on definite parking problems %26amp; driving to a separate location for the ceremony. It's a beautiful idea but you're not going to find exactly what you want for little money. If I were you I would look into some restaurants that do weddings on the water but not necessarily the beach. I found 2 incredible places, one overlooking the Harbor %26amp; one on a Lake. Look and see if you can find weekend vacation rentals on the beach. If you can find a really nice house right on the beach, with area to set up and entertain, that may work. You can try craigslist.com for such rental listings, and im sure other websites. Finding something like this could tremendously keep the costs down, and then youll even have it for a full day before, and after if you are there Friday - Sunday with a Saturday wedding. Good luck, im trying to plan the same thing, but living in CT, I may be settling for a lake instead. Best wishes!
Im not sure if you are interested at all in MA, but I am getting married at Danvers port in Danvers MA. It is absolutely beautiful. And they have rooms to accommodatee all size weddings. And it is right on the water.. Prices start at $65 a plate to have the ceremony and reception there.

Hope that was some help to you!
