Why is my dogs hair patchy?

Logan is 1yr old male great dane/ bull mastiff mix. UTD on shots and vet visits, but last week his hair has started being patchy and coming out very easily. I looked this up online and all I could find was mange, which I have ruled out because, one, it just doesnt LOOK like mange, and two, he is around my mothers four dogs and my mother-in-laws dog and none of them have it. Ringworm was another possibility but he has no dry skin or sores. So maybe its just because its getting cold? I live in Maine and the weather this past week has been 60s during the day and lower 40s at night. He doesnt seem itchy and doesnt have dandruff. So if anyone out there knows what this could be let me know! Any ideas are welcome!



And I will be taking Logan to the vet if this doesnt clear up, but I cant afford it atm because I just took him and my three cats in last month which costs about a million dollars when you are poor!Why is my dogs hair patchy?
Big dogs like yours need a great diet as most store brands are not Nutritious..My daughter had a Mastiff that started having the same problem on Benefiber and when she got a Solid Gold the dogs coat was amazing..



ADD..Purina is the worst and cheapest..Petco sells Wellness,Solid Gold,Innova,Taste of the Wild, all great foods and you feed less as it's not filled with fillers such as Corn,Meal,and Wheat which are all culprits of your dogs coats..Healthy dogs get less if any fleas,ticks or health problems so you save in the long run..Why is my dogs hair patchy?
Well it could be so many different things. Ringworm could still be possible sometimes it is not seen with the naked eye, the vet will use an ultraviolet light to see if it is ringworm. It could also be diet issues. Pruina is a good food that has also been reccomended by my vet. Fleas also will cause scabbing and hairloss. Just keep a close eye on it. If it continues to get worse and is losing hair fast, call the vet as soon as possible, most places will work with you if you have good standing. I hope this helps.Why is my dogs hair patchy?
