we are getting married on april 4, leaving for the honeymoon on april 6. we don't want the traditional warm weather cruise, beach theme, hoopla. we like the cold! my fiance and ii are from south mississippi and want to go "north-ish". we wanted maine but there are no ferries to nova scotia that time of year and that was one of our main reasons for there.. PLEASE OH PLEASE HELP..i've searched all over. i want good food, sightseeing and romantic. any ideas???Where is a good place to go for a honeymoon in april?
I would personally rent a car and tour N.England. Hit Boston and all the little fishing villages in Mass. and Conn. drive up the coast and visit maine, again, check out the little towns for a few hours, and stay a night or two in the larger cities. Portland and Bar Harbor are my favorites. When i was a kid, my family and I used to vacation each summer in the same cottage(on the beach) in Belfast. wonder if you could find something similar, and take a couple day trips.
