Best Season to see "13 Colonies" States?

I'm planning a roadtrip and the 13 original colonies (Maine, Masachussets, etc) are on the map to discover. I'd like a local to tell me what season it is best to be there, and what the weather is like then.Best Season to see "13 Colonies" States?
Absolutely fall. New England has the most beautiful fall foliage that you will find anywhere.

Also, the kids will be in school, and the tourist sites will be calmer and less crowded.Best Season to see "13 Colonies" States?
Anytime is great, but if you want to avoid the crowds, the late spring or early fall is the best! Also, you will not experience late/early heavy rains, sleet and snow. Be sure to visit some of the out of the way spots and not just the big cities/attractions. There's a lot to see; try not to do it all in one visit. Plan a re-trip in a few years!Best Season to see "13 Colonies" States?
I agree with Lisa-autumn is best. I live in Boston. The weather is usually fantastic in September and early October. Crisp and clear, temps between 60-75F during the day. You'll have the chance to see the gorgeous foliage along the way. I like the theme of your trip!
