Last year I switched from my normal antipersperant to more natural brands as part of a gradual lifestyle change, supposedly for better health etc. I tried the crystal rock thing first but I soon developed sore patches and have to give it up. I went through 2 or 3 stick deodorants and within a few weeks I got the same problem again. I tried using hydrocortisone while using deodorants but it controlled rather than cured the problem. I even tried baking soda but it was too harsh for my obviuosly senstive skin. Recently I was having some luck with a Toms of Maine stick, but as the weather warmed up (coincidence?) I got the same problem again, but a little worse.
After reading on the internet I thought maybe some irritation had turned into infection. Now I am using gold bond powder and nothign else! It seems to be slowly healing the soreness and red patches. Any ideas on where to go from here, or safe deodorant ideas? oh, I'm male, early 30's, no shaving, if thats relevant.Irritated, sore armpits :/?
Please head off to a dermatologist and have them check immediately. Could be any number of things, but previously mentioned sensitivities being the most probable culprit. However, must be mentioned other conditions could present with these symptoms. Hopefully, there is no bleeding? Does allergy medicine tone down the inflammation? any other symptoms? Either way, go to doc, at earliest convenience. Okay?Irritated, sore armpits :/?
Go to your doctor and let him/her diagnose. You may have an allergic sensitivity to deodorant and there are prescription brands out there.Irritated, sore armpits :/?
you were probably allergic to something in them. whatever they use as oppsed to what the non-natural bands use. see if you can find one thats hypoallergic or made for sensitive skin.
