I am going to Caribou Maine for job corps. I understand that its a small town compared to the one I grew up in. What's it like there. What is the weather like? I'm going to get there in April. When does "winter" like, is there any summer there? I only expect to be there until June or July then I'm going to a different job corps. What's it like in Caribou, Maine?

What's up with the weather!?
The weather has been so messed up. I live in Maine which is suppose to be cold but it's been raining in what's suppose to be one of the coldest months. On Monday the weather was so wacked. It took turns raining, snowing, hailing, sleeting, mixed, then it was sunny. It kept doing that on %26amp;off. Global warming?!What's up with the weather!?
Omg I live in Maine too xD lol that was off topic but seriously that was janked wasn't it?
I agree! here in New York it's snowing, and yesterday is was snowing too, except it kept on stopping and snowing. Like for 5 minutes it would stop snowing, and then it would start snowing again. . . But at least school's canceled here. I don't think it's Global Warming though. What's up with the weather!?
It isn't global warming, it's the jet stream taking a southerly course for most of the winter. In the south central US the winter has been much colder than normal, and much more snow than normal. We'll probably end up with our snowiest winter ever!
ikr, it's been like that too...down here in NJ
we have no school today and we had an early dismissal yesterday. the snow is like, have my height now, AND IT'S ONLY 8!! who knows what will happen in the end of the day!!What's up with the weather!?
I think that it's Global Warming and about half of it is from Earth's natural climate. I live in FL and over here its freakin cold as hell. Right now it's about 30 degrees.
it's not global warming , it's termed Climate Change now
global warming is a prooven hoax. you want messed up weather? come visit kansas sometime. ive seen it go from 25 to 65 overnight, not even joking
the weather is weather
i know i've asked it to rain bacon even did a dance for it and it still didn't rain bacon....
I say global warming! its like mother nature cant decide if she wants it to be cold out or if she wants it to be warm out!
Yes Global Warming. It's pretty sad that a lot of people are still in denial about it.
yea for sure .. i think it is global warming
but its ben weird for us as well one day it will b hot and nice day and then .. it will rain . like crzy ..
Its been snowing for 2 days here..we're due to get over a foot of snow..I hate this crappy Winter.
It's cold
it is raining and windy....
its very wet here in Lincolnshire
i blame it on the economy :(
i'm in florida and it's 60 outside! LOL!california academy of sciences battlefield bad company

Vacation spots in Maine, New Hampshire?
I am looking for a place to go for a one week vacation with my husband and 2 and a half year old girl this summer. We really like the idea of a cottage on a lake but we would also like to have somewhere to go indoors with a toddler if the weather is no good. Last year, it rained almost all week and we were in the middle of nowhere! Any links to a website would be great too. Thanks!Vacation spots in Maine, New Hampshire?
There are a lot of places that come to mind when thinking about those two states. They are both beautiful, and make perfect getaway locations. For me to pick the 'best' spot is almost impossible. There is just too many, and it depends a lot on what type of environment you like - somewhere secluded and quiet, or somewhere with a lot of people and lots of activity going on, or somewhere in between? I can provide a few links, and maybe that will help you to decide? Either way, have a great vacation wherever you decide to go!

Moosehead Lake is one of the most popular in Maine.

Rangeley Lakes Region

Sebago Lakes Region

Belgrade Lakes Region

The only thing I advise, is that you bring good bug spray..if you aren't right on the ocean, mosquito's can be bad.
I highly recommend Bar Harbor for a few days though, it's beautiful, and there are a lot of places to visit inside and out. It's really busy, so I'm not sure if that's the experience you're looking for. I don't know if you plan to stay the whole week in one place or spread the days out.
New Hampshire has Lake Winnipesaukee which is really nice.

For attractions for children if you'll be in the northern New Hampshire area:
Santa's Village

Mount Washington

Six Gun City

These are all around the White Mountain Region, which is very beautiful, but mostly known for it's hiking trails. Gorham is a nearby town which has a lot of tourist information. North Conway is also nearby, and is known for it's outlet shopping.Vacation spots in Maine, New Hampshire?
Come on up to Conway, New Hampshire! We've got it all! The town is quaint, safe and friendly. Our nights are rarely too hot in the summer and days offer lakes to swim in, and lots to do! Take a peek at www.mtwashingtonvalley.org to see our chamber of commerce website. There is much to do here. If you call the folks over at Conway Lakeside Cottages (see link below). This is a quaint place. It's outside of town and right on Conway Lake. Peace and quiet with room for little feet to run outside. You're about 15 mins out of town. Town is an easy drive. The road you're on is quite too which is nice. I drive past this place every day and always wish I was a tourist so I could stay there for week!
Hope to see you round town this summer!
in maine you can choose between staying on the coast or staying in the mountains...since it'll be summer i recommend the coast, for a beach vacation southern maine including york, oqunquit or old orchard beach are very popular--kids love the boardwalk at old orchard beach with all its games and food(adults do too)....for a more "rugged" vacation go up to bar harbor and acadia national park--the coast here is more rocky and rugged compared to southern maines sandy beaches; you can do whale watches, tour the national park, explore the town of bar harbor,etc.. i would use craigslist for vacation rentals

Is it advisable to walk the appalacian trail from fall till completion?
Start hiking from maine around oct 15th and travel south to georgia by spring. Do many hikers challenge the elements of cold and bad weather? Is it advisable to walk the appalacian trail from fall till completion?
Most thru hikers start at Springer in GA in early spring and hike north. Even then you can encounter cold rain and snow. Go to Appalachian Trail Conservancy web page.

For anyone that went to Husson College in Bangor, Maine?
what was it like? mainly i want to know if there were a lot of parties or not so much, and also about the weather i.e. snowfall. For anyone that went to Husson College in Bangor, Maine?
Yeah it's cold. Also, are you a router or something? Anyway, did you know Stephen King the writer is from Maine. Uh, I'm pretty sure there aren't too many clubs there. The college kids are gonna party, though. Plenty of drinking though. Also, you can swing by Boston, MA which is a few hours away.
