Brown university or UCLA???

I'm a high school junior, and I'm trying to decide between these two schools for early decision next year.



1. my weighted gpa is a 99.82 currently. is that too low for either of these schools?



2. I took two college courses at brown over the summer and got an A in both. will that help for admission?



3. which one should i go for? these are the positives for each I found so far. tell me if you agree: UCLA - great location, great school for research, great reputation, its in california (im from maine and i like nice weather); Brown - more comfortable size, has a rated higher quality of life, its an ivy league, it has an excellent reputation.

Well, first off UCLA does not have an early decision opportunity, so that can save you some hassle because if you really like Brown then you could simply apply for Brown's early decision. I like your reasoning behind both schools, I'm from LA, and UCLA is my number 3 school, behind Stanford and USC. I considered Brown for a long time, mainly because I could get on the golf team there and because of the location, but in the end my SAT wouldn't cut it (4.2 GPA with a 1930 SAT). Basically, if you want a chance UCLA is great, but I would apply to Brown and prefer that. I think that you would be happier with the education and the relative close proximity to home with Brown rather than UCLA.



Honestly, I think if your SAT is over 2000, you're a lock for UCLA. Over 2150, a lock for Brown, especially with early decision.

Not really but you never know with schools like Ivy's or UC's. It may but won't guarantee anything. I would go with Brown, or which one has your your major. If you really want a change I would go with UCLA. You can't go wrong either way. It may also depend on your major. I think it may be a little harder since you are from out of state but I think you will get in UCLA. I think you will get into Brown, but you never know with a Ivy. I think you should go to Brown. I think you can get into both, but I would choose Brown. Your gpa is fine.
